Road tax

The tax on entry into service and the road tax both tax the use of public roads by motor vehicles. Brussels Fiscality has taken over the management of these taxes on 1 January 2020.

Who has to pay these taxes?

All Brussels owners of a motor vehicle or trailer pay:

  • The annual road tax ;

  • An additional road tax if the vehicle runs on LPG ;

  • The tax on entry into service when a new or used road vehicle is put into service.
